I wll definitely be looking out for more Indian films in the future. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (or Something Happens) is Karan Johar's debut film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherji, released in 1998.It was seen as a rebuttal to another popular hit named Dil To Pagal Hai that contended that friendship and love were different and could never overlap. Rahul and Anjali are also the best of friends. Anjali being a tomboy gets along very well with Rahul and the other boys.

Although I was quite new to Indian "musical numbers" in which they incorporate within their films and even found the performances in them a little bit on the cheesy side, I throroughly enjoyed some of the songs as well. I can say that having been used to watching generally American films, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a romance that stands out from the typical Hollywood love story - paying attention to detail and character development in a way in which I've rarely seen before.
